How To Apply

The application process for undergraduates and graduate programs differ. So here is how to apply for each program:

Undergraduates

All applications for a Bachelor’s degree in the UK are submitted through the UCAS application website (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service).  

Follow these simple steps to apply through UCAS:

6.         Write a personal statement

Postgraduates

•         Future Master’s and PhD students can apply directly to the University of their Choice.

•         You can also apply through the UKPASS system. You fill in all your details online, scan and upload any necessary documents, for example, a copy of your passport and Bachelor degree certificate.

•         For PhD programs, candidates are expected to choose a supervisor from the university before applying.

Language requirement for the UK university application

If you do not come from an English-speaking country, you would have to show you are proficient in the English language. These are the accepted language tests you can take:

Required university application documents

Alongside your personal information, you should submit photocopied documents confirming your identity and academic history. These may include:

1.         Birth certificates
2.         Passport
3.         Reference letters
4.         Evidence of English proficiency
5.         Copies of degree/diploma certificates
6.         Academic transcript of records
7.         Graduate applicants may have to submit a research proposal

Most of the document copies will have to be certified by a professional authority, which will confirm their genuineness. If a document isn’t in English, an official notarized translation might be required.

At times, some universities may request additional documents after you have submitted your application. To avoid delays or missed deadlines, send your documents ahead of time.

When you receive your university acceptance letter, you need to do the following:

1.         Get your health insurance
2.         Apply for the UK study visa.
3.         You may have to register at a police station within seven days after you arrive in the UK (this is required if the visa sticker in your passport states ‘Police registration’).
4.         Some UK universities expect you to pre-enroll online on their website prior to your arrival in the UK.
